Research lines

The main lines of research that we follow are:

• Development of new tests for the mechanical characterization of asphalt materials for road surfaces.
• Development of more efficient methods to evaluate the bending failure of bituminous mixtures and determine their service life.
• Adaptation of bituminous mixtures to environmental conditions: reduction of manufacturing and spreading temperature, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, recycling of aged mixtures, waste and industrial by-products, durability.
• Analysis of the effect of manufacturing conditions on the mechanical properties of recycled mixtures to optimize recycling techniques.
• Integrated design of mixes for thin and ultra-thin layers for construction and maintenance of pavements.
• Perpetual pavements.
