Equipment

The Laboratory of Physical, Chemical and Microbiological Parameter Analysis is equipped with devices for gravimetric processing, spectrophotometry, gas chromatography (methane, fatty acids), liquid chromatography, digestion and analysis devices for nutrients and organic matter (total nitrogen, Kjedahl nitrogen, phosphorus total, COD, BOD, total organic carbon, ammonium, nitrates, nitrites and sulfates) apparatus for drying and muffle of samples, basic equipment for carrying out microbiological quality analysis, light-field optical microscopy, phase contrast and fluorescence.
The Laboratory of Environmental Engineering has prototypes at laboratory and pilot scale for water treatment and resource recovery (bioenergy, bioproducts): built swamps and microbial piles, lagoons and microalgae photobioreactors, anaerobic digesters for biogas production, among others. The pilot-scale plants are located on the roof of Building D1.
